Executive Vice-President's Blog!

My name is David Halliday and I was elected as the Executive Vice-President for USA Track & Field /Florida in August of 2008. I will serve a four-year term along with the other officers. I have been involved with track & field since I was in the 7th grade. I ran for Seabreeze High School, then was a walk-on runner at the The University of Florida, and I have been coaching high school cross country and track field for the past 15 years. I have been involved with USA Track Field since 1994, including serving as the Track & Field Sunshine State Games/Junior Olympics Qualifier Director.

Here at USA Track & Field/Florida we are trying to reach a whole new constituency in our state. We want to broaden our base and increase our membership numbers over the next two years. This includes not only athletes, but officials, coaches, volunteers, and administrators. We are hoping to have an open line of communication to everybody involved in track and field in the State of Florida. USATF/Florida wants to hear your opinions and receive input from all of our members. We want to make USATF/Florida bigger and better! Please let us know what we can do.
